New flag honors Helen Wurst
STOCKHOLM — The Women’s Society of the Stockholm United Methodist Church dedicated a flagpole to the memory of Helen Wurst on Sunday, June 24.
The program included prayers, and a tributes to the church member whose love of her church inspired the gift.
The flag was raised by Colin Brinster, Zach Dora, Zachary Koch and Matthew Catania from Boy Scout Troop #48. Trumpeter Norman Schutte accompanied them and the gathered church members along with their choir sang "The Star Spangled Banner."
Many church members were in attendance as well as James Wurst, son of Helen Wurst, Stanely Kula, Hardyston Town Councilman, and Georgieanne Fernandez, Judy Cetrano and James Wright, members of the Hardyston Heritage Society.
