Concert benefits Foodshed Alliance

FREDON — A concert on Friday, July 13 will help raise money for the Foodshed Alliance. Presented by Chords4Carrots and Hobo Stage, the show features New York Area Americana band Bovine Social Club and singer/songwriter Mari Byrd. The show begins at 6 p.m. The concert is sponsored by Natures Harvest, Stillpoint Schoolhouse and LL Pittenger Farm and will be held at the historic Fountain House on Route 94 in Fredon.

The Foodshed Alliance is a grassroots, non-profit devoted to promoting locally-grown food and farming. They work with farmers, community members and agricultural leaders to develop projects that foster the growth of a sustainable local food system. They focus on raising public awareness about the value of local foods and on helping farmers find more profitable and sustainable ways to grow and market their products.

Bred on the northern banks of the Delaware River, Bovine Social Club offers a grassy, funky, twangy, swinging breed of sounds fertilized by Celtic, bluegrass, Juju, gospel, jazz and rock vocabularies.

Bovine Social Club’s debut album, produced by Railroad Earth's Tim Carbone, was released worldwide on June 7. With a sound fertilized by celtic, bluegrass, Juju, gospel, jazz and rock vocabularies, Bovine Social Club gives thinking people happy feet!
