Ogdensburg The Ogdensburg Otters swim team held a car wash and bake sale at the firehouse Sunday. The high temperatures dampened the sale of baked goods but the clear sky encouraged local residents to bring their cars to be washed.
According to team co-manager Laura Nasisi the 32-member team includes players from 5 to 13 years old. The money raised will go toward general team expenses.
The occasional spray from the hose kept the workers cool and being swim team members they are accustomed to being wet.
It is a great way for the kids to stay cool, Earl Hornyak, a car wash customer said.
