OAK RIDGE — Buccieri’s Gems & Jewelry is holding its seventh annual Jewelers for Children fundraiser, in support of children's charities.

The non profit organization Jewelers for Children supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the National CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Association.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses and is the largest wish-granting charity in the world. Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation works to fund and conduct critical pediatric AIDS research that it hopes will ultimately lead to the prevention and treatment of HIV infection in infants and children.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is dedicated solely to the conquest of catastrophic diseases afflicting children.

National CASA represents more than 70,000 community volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.

Since its inception in 1999, Jewelers for Children has providided more than $37 million to the four charities.

Kathy and Matt Buccieri, owners of Buccieri’s Gems & Jewelry, who are strong believers in umbrella organization that funds the four charities, will donate 5 percent of all jewelry repair, appraisal and watch battery income earned during the month of July to the organization.

To contribute, visit Buccieri’s at 5669 Berkshire Valley Road in Oak Ridge during July. Matt Buccieri, a graduate gemologist with over 18 years of experience in the jewelry industry, will be on hand to assist customers with their purchases, repairs, appraisals and custom design.

To make an additional donation, send in or drop off a check made out to the JFC no later than July 31. All donations will be forwarded to JFC in early August.

The Buccieris can be reached at 973-208-6880.
