July 23
Brittany Heil, 20, of Newton pled guilty to seven counts of third-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Sept. 10.
She admitted to distributing heroin on two occasions and cocaine on seven occasions in the Town of Newton to an undercover detective assigned to the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. The distributions occurred in March and April.
Angel A. Cruz, 34, of Newark pled guilty to two counts of third-degree accomplice liability for the distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and one count of second-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Oct. 12.
He admitted that on April 2 and 16, he supplied cocaine to another individual who sold it to a person cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. He also admitted that he possessed 170 bags of cocaine and 463 bags of heroin in the Holiday Inn Express in Newton on April 26, which he intended to distribute to others.
July 27
Christopher A. Kotz, 31, of Point Pleasant, was sentenced to two years probation concurrent to sentence in Passaic County, driver’s license suspension for six months.
He pled guilty on June 18, to Possession of CDS, a third-degree crime, and a motor vehicle summons, obstruction of view.
Aaron Gorish, 29, of Middletown, N.Y., was sentenced to three years probation and driver’s license suspension for six months.
He pled guilty on June 25, to possession of CDS, a third-degree crime and motor vehicle summons for careless driving.
Joseph W. Mauriello, 25, of Sussex, was sentenced to 364 days in the County Jail for a violation of probation and a consecutive five-year period of drug court probation. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made. He must pay restitution to several victims in the amount of $21,464.50, pay total fines and penalties of $1,030 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.
He pled guilty on May 14, to seven counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary, all crimes of the third degree, and to a violation of probation.
In pleading guilty, Mauriello admitted to illegally entering several residences in Franklin, Fredon, Branchville, Sparta and Wantage between April 2011 and May 2011 and taking property from the homes. The violation of probation stems from an incident in Wantage Township on Sept. 12, 2010 where Mauriello admitted to permitting others to store and work on a stolen ATV in his garage.
July 30
Sonny R. Delacruz, 29, of Newton, pled guilty to third-degree theft. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Oct. 26.
The defendant admitted to taking over $8,800 while employed as a bookkeeper between August through December of 2011 for VIP Nails in Wantage.
Nicholas J. Zanetti, 32, of Stanhope was sentenced to three years state prison and $1,205 in fines.
He pled guilty on July 16 to the third-degree crime of attempting to defraud the administration of a drug test.
He admitted that on May 8, he attempted to avoid giving a urine sample for a drug test for drug court by using a container with a tube attached to it that passed water into a test cup.
Dusten K. Blades, 29, of Newton, was sentenced to five years drug court probation, $1,205 in fines, inpatient substance abuse treatment, 51 days in jail and a six month loss of driver’s license.
He pled guilty on June 25 to the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
He was arrested on an outstanding warrant on April 17 in Newton and was found to be in possession of Xanax pills.
Alexander C. Esposito, 19, of Franklin was sentenced to four years drug court probation, $1,300 in fines, $2,653.10 in restitution and a six month loss of driver’s license.
He pled guilty on May 21 to possession of heroin and theft, both crimes of the third degree.
He admitted to being in possession of heroin in Franklin on Dec. 27, 2011. He also admitted that on April 9, in Franklin, he stole several bank checks and debit/credit card from a residence and used both to obtain cash for himself.
Brandon J. Biggs, 21, of Hamburg pled guilty to the third-degree crime of defrauding a drug test and the disorderly person’s offense of possession of marijuana. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Oct. 26.
He admitted that on April 9, he attempted to defraud a drug test at the Sussex County Probation Department by giving a sample of another individual’s urine. He also admitted to possessing marijuana brownies on Dec. 16, 2011 in Hardyston.
Bayane Varoqua, 28, of Franklin pled guilty to the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Oct. 19.
She admitted to possessing 75 Xanax tablets without a prescription on April 10, in Franklin.
Amy Van Dillen, 24, of Sparta pled guilty to the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Oct. 19.
She admitted to possessing 14 bags of heroin in her purse on May 23, 2011 in Newton.
July 31
Reginald Casterlin, 43, of Franklin, was sentenced to two years probation, 30 days SLAP and 30 days community service.
He pled guilty on April 23, to terroristic threats of violence, a third-degree crime, and criminal mischief, a disorderly persons offense.
Aug. 1
Cristian Vasile, 34, of Kearny, was sentenced to 270 days in the County Jail, to run concurrent to a sentence he will be receiving in
Hudson County. He was ordered to perform 10 days of community service and pay joint and several restitution in the amount of $2.225. He must pay total fines and penalties of $405 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.
He pled guilty on June 19 to three counts of shoplifting, all crimes of the third degree. In pleading guilty, Vasile admitted to attempting to take merchandise from the Walmart in Hampton Township without paying for it on three separate occasions between July 12, 2010 and July 18, 2010.
