Clothing drive for Jr. Police Academy
HAMBURG — The Hamburg Police Department will be conducting a clothing drive to benefit the Hamburg Junior Police Academy.
The Junior Police Academy is a program available to students in fifth- through eighth-grades at the Hamburg Elementary School. Coordinators and instructors serve on a volunteer basis.
All the funds raised through the clothing drive will be used to offset cots of uniforms, travel and other expenses in support of the academy.
What is needed
Clothing can be dropped off on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Hamburg Police Department at 9 Orchard St.
Items that will be collected include:
Clothing — all women’s, men’s, children’s, in good condition
Shoes but not skates or winter boots
Belts
Handbags, including school bags, travel bags and backpacks
Linens — bedding, towels, blankets, drapes, curtains, in good condition.
