Franklin's Irish Cottage raises money to fight cancer

Patrons at Franklin's Irish Cottage raised at least $17,000 on Sunday at the Irish Cottage's annual St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser.

Last year's event raised $25,000 and the goal was increased this year to $25,000. Ryan said Sunday afternoon that more and more donations are expected to come in over the next month and he is hopeful that the goal will be met.

With music supplied by the Ray Sikora band the interior of the restaurant was tightly packed with a crowd watching the two barber’s chairs and the before and after sequence of folks getting bald for a good cause.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a nonprofit group that raises funds for children’s cancer research.
