Hamburg FD plans golf outing

    The Hamburg Fire Dept. will host its 10th anniversary golf outing on Monday, Sept. 29, at the Wild Turkey Course at Crystal Springs Golf Club in Hardyston.

    The cost to play will be $135 and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, dinner and gift. it also will include tournament prizes and door prizes.

    Since the first event in 2004, the outing has grown to more than 100 golfers participating in the event. And, 100 percent of the proceeds goes to the Hamburg Fire Department Incorporated Golf Outing Charities Fund.

    With contributions received from its annual golf outing, the Hamburg Fire Department then donates to others. In the past years the Fire Department donated to the following organizations and families: The Sussex County YMCA Strong Kids Campaign; The Pastore family of Wantage; The Decker family of Hamburg; The Cooke family of Hamburg; The Schmidt family of Vernon; the Crum family of Wantage; the Breitenbach family of Vernon; the Johnson family of Budd Lake; Hamburg School for work with adding a handicap playground equipment to the playground;The Xeroderma Pigmentosum Society, Inc., Camp Sundown for patients who have severe sensitivity to all sources of UV radiation, located in Craryville, N.Y.; The Sussex County Food Bank and other charities.
