Newton Medical Center ranked number one
NEWTON — Newton Medical Center was ranked by physicians as the top mid-sized hospital in the state for the second consecutive year among hospitals with 350 beds or fewer, by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., one of the nation’s most respected health care research and information companies.
Newton Medical Center is also ranked first in this category for the treatment of congestive heart failure, strokes, hip and knee repair, high risk pregnancy, prostate and breast cancers, and neurological disorders.
These rankings are published in Inside Jersey magazine’s April 2013 issue. Atlantic Health System’s hospitals, which include Morristown, Overlook, and Newton Medical Centers, and Goryeb Children’s Hospital, placed in the top four in the state in nearly every category ranked by Castle Connolly.

Nearly 1,200 licensed physicians in New Jersey participated in the online survey by Castle Connolly, which was distributed in fall 2012.
Physicians cast more than 20,000 votes on the treatment of specific medical conditions and top overall hospitals in the state. The results were divided into two categories: hospitals with more than 350 beds and those with less than 350 beds.
