Students honored as Artists of the Month for April

Renee Simler from the Art Teachers of the Jefferson Township School System and Jack Kelly from the Jefferson Arts Committee awarded Certificates of Outstanding Achievement and Fine Arts medals to the students selected as the artists of the month for April.

Not present at the award ceremony were Payton Kazatsky of the White Rock School, Amanda Sundbrg and Emily Storey of the Jefferson Township High School.

Their art work will be on display at the Jefferson Township Library until Wednesday, May 8. Everyone is invited to view their art work.

On Friday, June 14, a reception for all the Student Artists will be held in the Council Chambers at 7:30 p.m. At that time, all of the art work for the year will be displayed in the Council Chamber and a guest artist will address the students and their families.

The Student Artist recognition program is sponsored by the Art Teachers of the Jefferson Township School System and the Jefferson Arts Committee. The awards have been given for the past 15 years.
