'Spotlight on Success' to commemorate the accomplishment of local women business owners

NJAWBO Northwest is presenting, "Spotlight on Success," to commemorate the accomplishments of our area's women business owners, to encourage the community to strive for strong leadership skills and business acumen, and to motivate female entrepreneurs to build empowering peer relationships.

The event will be held on Tuesday, May 14 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Hanover Marriott, 1401 Route 10 East, Whippany.

The event's topic will be "The Power of Networking: Building Brands and Relationships."

The keynote speaker will be Sally Glick, MBA. Glick is a Principal of the Firm and the Chief Growth Strategist at Sobel & Co, LLC. In that role she is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's branding, marketing communications and business development strategies.

A leader in her field, Glick was named Accounting Marketer of the Year for 2003, was listed on Accounting Today's list of Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting for 2004, 2005 and 2006, had the honor of being the first non-CPA woman to appear on the cover of Practical Accountant and in 2007 was inducted into the Association for Accounting Marketing's Hall of Fame. Also this May, the Visiting Nurses of Northern New Jersey are honoring her at their May 2013 Gala as the Community Service Award recipient.

Glick was named one of NJBIZ's "Top 25 Women of Influence" and was selected as one of their "Top 50 Women in Business" in 2008. In January 2010 she was named as the Garden State Foundation's Woman of the Year - Professional Services category and in May 2011 she was honored as a Woman of Distinction by the Boy Scouts for Northern New Jersey. Additionally, in 2008, The YWCA of Essex and West Hudson recognized Sally with their Woman of Distinction Award.

Glick serves on several local and national boards including being a Vice-President on the board of NJ's Association of Corporate Growth and a board member and Chair of the B2B Council for Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. She serves on the Morris County Chamber of Commerce Members' Council and she is a Founder and Charter Member of the Liberty Science Center's Women of Leadership Counsel where she is currently serving as Chair. In July 2011 she assumed a two year term as President of Temple Beth Am in Parsippany.

Glick earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. where she was given the Alumni Merit Award in 2008 and her MBA from The Lake Forest Graduate School of Business Management in Lake Forest, Ill.
