The Jefferson House, located on the lake at Nolan’s Point in Jefferson Township, is having a fund raiser for the Blue Star Salute committee on Thursday, May 23.

The Jefferson House will donate a percentage of their sale of food between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m. This not include the sale of alcoholic beverages, tips or taxes.

The Blue Star Salute is a ceremony that will honor the men and women of Jefferson Township who have served in the Armed Forces of our country from Desert Storm to the present and includes their families. It is sponsored by the American Legion Post No. 423 in Milton.

Funds realized from this donation will be used to pay for the costs involved with the Blue Star Salute ceremony that will be held on Saturday, July 13 in the Jefferson Township High School auditorium. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.

If you know of veterans who have served in the Armed Forces since Desert Storm, call the committee at 973-697-5957 or by e-mail at donna.jeffersonarts@gmail.com so that an invitation to this event can be sent to them.
