Raiders record fourth win
HAMBURG — The Wallkill Valley Raiders played last Sunday versus the Elmwood Park Tigers and marked their fourth win of the season in five played games. The game was played at Wheatsworth Park.
With an early goal from Lukas Wiloski, who took advantage of a defensive error and made a shot from the eighteen yard line, the Raiders took control of the game. The second goal was scored by Daniel Galate, who made a shot on goal after a good play that started in midfield.
In the second half the Tigers scored to make it 2-1. With the added pressure, the Raiders kept on creating scoring opportunities that kept the opponent’s goalie on his toes. A scoring opportunity was seized by Skyler Hanisch who crossed a shot that beat the goalie and brought the score to 3-1.
The Tigers later took advantage of a Raiders error in defense and scored the second goal to make it 3-2. Before the end of the game, another good play allowed Daniel Galate to score his second goal of the day to make it 4-2 and give the Raiders an important win to keep them at the top of the standings in the spring season.
