April 19
Robert Woodruff, 23, of Highland Lakes, was sentenced to four years New Jersey State Prison and given credit for 227 days served in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility, defendant must submit a DNA sample at his own expense, pay restitution to the victims and pay various fines and penalties.
Woodruff admitted that between July 5, and July 7, 2012 he entered several residences and stole jewelry, money and personal items.
April 29
William Alfund, 38, pled guilty to burglary, a third degree crime.
He entered a residence without permission with the intention of stealing money.
John Space, 30, of Andover, pled guilty to the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
He admitted to giving four bags of heroin to another individual in Franklin on Feb. 2, 2012.
May 3
Shannon M. Ernst, 21, of Sussex was sentenced to four years state prison, $1,280 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license.
She pled guilty on April 1 to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and the third crime of absconding from parole.
She admitted that on April 29, 2012 she possessed five bags of heroin in Sussex Borough.
That matter was investigated by New Jersey State Trooper J. McCarthy. She also admitted to absconding from her parole officer a few days later and not turning herself in until October.
Michael J. Wall, 24, of Sussex was sentenced to four years probation, 91 days credit for time served in jail, $625 in fines and a seven-month loss of driver’s license.
He pled guilty on Dec. 3, 2012 to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving while intoxicated and the third degree crime of burglary.
He admitted that on Oct. 10, 2012 he operated a motor vehicle in Franklin while under the influence of heroin and that he possessed 30 bags of heroin at the time.
He also admitted to burglarizing a motor vehicle in Franklin and stealing a wallet from it.
Mandee L. Monico, 20, of Stockholm was sentenced to two years probation, four days credit for time served in jail, inpatient substance abuse treatment and $155 in fines.
She pled guilty on March 4 to the third degree crime of conspiracy to possess a controlled dangerous substance.
She admitted that on Oct. 24, 2012 in Hardyston she agreed with several other people to sell a handgun in order to obtain money to buy heroin.
Jeffrey Berger, 38, of Hamburg was sentenced to two years probation.
He was ordered to maintain employment, submit to random urine monitoring, perform 50 hours of community service and forfeit the Daisy pellet gun that was involved in this matter. He must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.
He pled guilty on March 4 to certain persons not to have weapons, a crime of the third degree.
In pleading guilty, Berger admitted to being in possession of a Daisy pellet gun which he did not have a firearms ID card for in Hamburg on Nov. 4, 2012.
He had also has a previous conviction which bars him from owning or using any weapons.
Ian C. Skinner, 49, of Newton was sentenced to six years state prison with 34 months of parole ineligibility and $3,405 in fines
He pled guilty on March 4 to three counts of third degree drug distribution.
He admitted that on May 22 and June 1, 2012 he sold ten bags of heroin on each occasion to individuals cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.
One sale occurred while within 1,000 feet of St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Newton and the other occurred within 1,000 feet of Halstead Street School in Newton.
May 6
Ubardo Cartagena, 51, of Hopatcong, pled guilty to fourth degree driving while suspended.
In January the Hopatcong Police pulled the defendant over for a traffic violation and he was found to be driving with a suspended license after a second or subsequent violation.
Roy Teague, 49, of Sussex pled guilty to failure to verify address under Megan’s Law, a fourth degree crime, and violation of conditions of Megan’s Law, a fourth degree crime.
Miguel A. Matos, 28, of Sussex pled guilty to receiving stolen property, a crime of the fourth degree
In pleading guilty, Matos admitted that he had stolen a vehicle from a business in Vernon on Oct. 15, 2012.
John L. Gibbons, 35, of Lakehurst pled guilty to theft of a motor vehicle, a crime of the third degree, and to the motor vehicle offense of driving while suspended.
In pleading guilty, Gibbons admitted to taking a vehicle from the home of an acquaintance in Branchville on April 4 and getting into an accident.
His driving privileges were suspended at the time of the incident.
