Local martial artist fights to make a safe summer for kids
HAMBURG — This summer Vince Moncelsi, owner of Vince’s Karate Academy is offering all school-age children in the Sussex County area a free “Kid Safe – Self Defense, Safety, and Awareness Program.”
This one-day course will cover the basics of personal protection and summer fitness for kids.
“Self-defense is more than just learning to deal with bullies,” says Moncelsi. “It’s about staying safe at home, with friends, at the pool, and all the other places kids will be this summer.”
Moncelsi has been teaching life skills and self-defense through martial arts for children and young adults in the Sussex County area for 20 years.
Depending on attendance Moncelsi plans on running several of the free courses as summer gets underway. These 45-minute Summer Safety Courses will run for eight weeks and will be held at Vince’s Karate Academy located on Rt. 23 in the Hardyston Plaza.
This program is free for residents of Sussex County. Space is limited so call to register a spot early. For more information and class times, contact Vince’s Karate Academy at 973-209-4340.
