Support PSE&G's Energy Strong program

| 22 May 2013 | 06:08

I am writing my fellow Sussex County residents to encourage their support of PSE&G's Energy Strong application which has been proposed to the NJ Board of Public Utilities for approval. Energy Strong will make the utility distribution systems more resilient to future storms like Sandy.

Why should Sussex County care about PSE&G's Energy Strong Program when we are serviced by other utility companies?

Remember gasoline not being available in Sussex County because power was out to refineries and fuel distribution facilities served by PSE&G? Had PSE&G been able to take the extraordinary measures outlined in the Energy Strong plan, almost half of their customers wouldn’t have lost power during Sandy and others would have power restored much faster.

Energy Strong will also put many Sussex County residents to work engineering and building the reinforced system.

As an employee of PSE&G, I know firsthand how the reinforcement of the energy distribution systems will make it easier for all of us in Sussex County to live through future storms that may come our way.

Some people are opposed to this work being done. Please learn more and voice your opinion to our elected officials and the NJ Board of Public Utilities.
