Sussex County Libraries offer summer reading programs

| 17 Jun 2013 | 12:40

July 1 marks the first week of active reading for Summer Reading Programs at the Sussex County Libraries: Dig Into Reading for children 6 months through those entering sixth grade, Beneath the Surface for tweens and teens and Groundbreaking Reads for adults.

Story times, special crafts, movies, magicians and prizes will be offered with more programs and activities at every branch.

Rizzo’s Reptiles will hold a show at every branch the week of June 24 to launch the summer reading season.

There will be two Touch-A-Trucks on July 15 at the Louise Childs Branch in Hopatcong and July 16 at the Sussex-Wantage branch in Wantage, where kids of all ages can get up close and personal with construction equipment and emergency vehicles.

Every branch has “weekly digs” that allow children to pick out a different small prize each week (while supplies last); drop in crafts; planned activities including T-shirt decorating, gaming competitions, a teen zombie party and more. Plus, all ages can count their reading toward raffle entries for more than 50 prizes.

Times, dates and details are available at www.sussexcountylibrary.org, or by calling or visiting your local branch.
