Dance expresssion companies earn awards at nationals

HAMBURG — The Dance Expression Dance company recently performance for the Dance Explosion national dance and talent competition in Wildwood.

"Chicago was honored with an extreme platimum award in the Musica Theatre Jazz Production Number category and "Talking Drums" was awarded extreme platimum in theTeen Large Group Modern category. "Strongest Suit" was named extreme platinum in the Junior Small Group Jazz category. "Lonely at the Top," the senior Jazz solo performed by Morgan Parker of Vernon also won an extreme platinum award.

The Dance Expression Performance Companies also received more than 25 Platimun Awards for large and small groups, solos, duets and trios.

Special awards were presented to: "Chicago," classic and faulous fosse award; "Talking Drums," excellent execution award; "That's not very Ladylike," creative concept award; "Draw a Map," Marvelous Modern Award; "Stars and Stripes," Beautiful Ballet Form Award; "At the Hop," fabulous staging award, "In the Mirror," teen modern solo; Jillian Henderson of Sparta, lovely lines award.

Dancers Include: Lauralee Montemurro, Rebecca Beltramine, Renea Rossi, Gina McGuire, Kathleen Murray, Payden Dorney, Samantha Lorenzetti, Sarah Veasey, Dylan VonderLinden, Adrianna Velez, Elijah Velez, Kristen Winkler, Amanda Capriglione, Cassandra Westin, Kayla Bifano, Taylor Wade, Ashley Benecki, Isabel Murdock, Alyssa Paparella, Lauren Morris, Maria Iacopelli, Morgan Parker, Jillian Henderson, Kristina Henderson, Carmella Limon, Danielle Gutt, Taylor Simon, Julia Young, Alyssa Cohan, Julia Chmielowic, Gabriella Ellrott, Mia Lapinski, Kaitlyn LaRue, Meghan Mihalik, Maya Sauer, Rylee Smaldone, Kennedy Lightfoot, Alexis Read and Ciara Brock.
