American Legion Post 423 sponsored a Coloring Contest for the fourth- and fifth-grade students at the White Rock Lake School this past month.

The students were given copies of a scene depicting the Korean War and the Battle of Gettysburg.

They were allowed to use any coloring media, except for 3-D coloring materials. The finished coloring sheets were submitted to Legion Post 423 where they were judged by a committee.

Brianna Mehan, fourth-grade, won first place, Natalia Klepacz, fifth grade, was second and Patrik Jokova, fifth grade, was third. Eighty-four submissions were judged.

Certificates of Outstanding Performance were awarded to the above and a Certificate of Appreciation for her support of the contest was presented to Mrs. Tramayne-Heetema.

The winning entry was submitted to the Morris County American Legion Coloring Contest.
