Crystal Springs hosts first member tournament of season

More than 80 members of the Crystal Springs Golf Resort ignored the late snow on Wednesday, April 16, to compete in the first Member Appreciation Tournament.

Winners of the event, which took place at Crystal Springs Golf Club, are looking to qualify for the resort member championship.

At the end of play the team of Brett Trenkmann and Bruce Hinchman were awarded the top prize of logo sweatshirts, two sleeves of tour golf balls and a free two-some at the Crystal Springs Golf Club for their 6-under-par winning score.

The team of Steve Pezzino and Anthony Fioretti finished in second place.

he other prize winners included the team of Hannah Pekarek and Joanne Enck winners of the Women’s Division and John Schneider and Bill Iolanardi in the Senior 65+ Division. Second Place in the 65+ Division went to Gary Ross and Russ Lynn. Skill award winners included Bret Trenkmann for his closest to the pin shot on Village hole No. 5, Matt Morgan for his closest to the pin shot on Classic hole No. 2 and to Buffy Whiting for her closest to the pin shot on Classic hole No. 6. Long-drive winners were Luke Wolters for the men, Hannah Pekarek for the women and Bill Iolonardi for the 65+ seniors. The winner of the putting contest was Dan Ecke. All winners received a golf hat and a free two-some at the Crystal Springs Golf Club.

The next Crystal Springs Resort’s Member Appreciation Tournament is scheduled for May 21st at the Black Bear Golf Club, and is holding its 1st ever GolfFest beginning on Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Crystal Springs Country Club open to golfers of all ages and skill levels, rides on a space-age Hovercraft, free club fittings and clinics, a 7-Star Membership competition, fun-filled family golf, and the exciting new crossover sport — FootGolf.
