The season started off with three of the team's veteran gymnasts — Jada Smith, 13, of Sparta, Alexi Ahmadi, 13, of Hardyston and Peyton Kane, 8, of Ogdensburg — getting invited to compete with the 100 selected gymnasts and from the U.S. and other countries to an international meet in Bermuda.

Smith placed third all around gold while Ahmadi placed sixth all around gold and Kane placed fifth all around bronze.

Westy's newer meets also performed well, traveling to all parts of New Jersey and New York.

Samie Copley, 8, of Vernon started the program in June of this past year and has been top of the podium in the copper division since the first meet she competed in. Andrea Piedresanta, 9, of Hamburg, another first-year competitor in the copper division has been placing top 5 consistently all season as well.

Sarah Philback, 9, of Hamburg is a first-year competitor in the Bronze division and has dominated both beam and floor in her age group. Kane, a veteran team member in the Bronze division has been working hard and adding new skills to her routines all season and her scores reflect that .

Smith and Ahmadi continually achieve top 3 scores in their age groups.

The gymnasts will end their season at both states and nationals in May held at the Wildwood Convention center and then they will travel to Florida for Worlds and Nationals.
