VERNON — There wasn’t a single parking space left available Sunday at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church as music lovers came to enjoy an afternoon of music performed by the Community Choral Society.

With a theme of performing “A Little Bit Broadway, A Little Bit Beatles” chorus members dressed in costumes reminiscent of the casts of the musicals Hair and Grease. The Community Choral Society performed selections from Grease, Hair, Fiddler on the Roof, and Newsies. The afternoon concert also included a guest performance by members of the Vernon-based No Strings a cappella group, which sang "I Got Rhythm," "In My Life," and "Circle of Life."

The choral society is under the direction of Danielle Kastner who was the conductor and Eleanore Hewitt O’Mara who performed on the piano. Former Vernon Township Mayor Janet Morrison is the society’s president.
