Most LED bulbs are rated for damp locations, meaning in places whereby there is humidity or ambient dampness. Only specific LEDs are rated for Outdoor weatherproof applications. They are gasketed to keep the elements such as water out. The Industry uses a rating called IP65 which means suitable for applications exposed to the elements (Outdoor Weatherproof). There are also LED products that can be submersible, but be sure to check the labeling and specs.
