Oelofse oppointed to first VP, lending officer

Juan Oelofse was promoted to first vice president of Sussex Bank's Commercial Lending Dept. at the Rockaway Regional Office and Corporate Center.

A native of South Africa, Oelofse arrived in the U.S. in 2000. Having pursued commercial and investment banking in South Africa he joined Citibank’s Commercial Markets Group in New York City in 2000, as a commercial relationship manager, and completed the bank’s formal credit training program in 2001.

Oelofse has more than 10 years of banking experience in business development and commercial lending. Prior to joining Sussex Bank, Mr. Oelofse was a senior commercial loan officer with TD Bank, where he was the recipient of the TD Bank CEO Leadership Award in 2008.

Mr. Oelofse, a resident of Chester, N.Y., with his wife, two daughters and a son, earned his bachelor of commerce (Law) at the University of Johannesburg. Additionally, Mr. Oelofse is a board member of the town of Chester Ethics Board and the Orange County Arts Council.
