Produce Pete to appear at Jefferson Day

Produce Pete Napolitano will appear on Saturday, July 12, during the Jefferson Township Day celebration on the fields at Jefferson Township High School, located at 1010 Weldon Road.

He is expected to be seated in the Jefferson Arts Committee tent at the entrance to the fields from 2 to 4 pm so be sure to stop by. He may even judge the day’s Chili Contest

“Produce” Pete is an American grocer, chef, and celebrity spokesperson best known for his weekly segment on television; and he wrote his own recipe book "Produce Pete’s Farmacopeia. Now in his 60s, Napolitano has been in the produce business since the age of 4, working at his parents’ roadside stand in Bergenfield, and peddled door-to-door and met many interesting people. Known for taking the mystery out of choosing and using fruits and vegetables, he shares homespun wisdom and mouth-watering recipes every Saturday morning on Weekend TODAY in New York on NBC-TV.
