    — As part of Newton Medical Center's efforts to empower its communities to be the healthiest in the nation, the hospital is holding a food drive at its Health and Wellness facilities in Sparta and Vernon in New Jersey and Milford, Pa.

An estimated one in six Americans go hungry every day, and food pantries are often the source of nourishment for many throughout the year.

Donations of non-perishable food items will be donated to food pantries in the communities served by the Health and Wellness sites - the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta Food Pantry; the Vernon Area Sussex Help Center Food Pantry; and Milford Ecumenical Food Pantry.

Drop off any donations of non-perishable food at any of the following three sites between now and July 4.

Sparta Health and Wellness , 89 Sparta Ave., Sparta, NJ

Vernon Health and Wellness, 123 State Route 94, Vernon, NJ

Milford Health and Wellness , 111 East Catharine St., Milford, Pa.
