Richard J. 'Leroy' DiCorcia

    Richard J. “Leroy” DiCorcia, 61, passed away on June 26, 2014, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Jersey City, N.J., he is the son of Jean (Albers) DiCorcia and the late Frank DiCorcia.

    Richard was employed for many years (1973-1997) as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service working out of the Manhattan branch. He was very proud of the fact that during his employment, he learned foreign country codes and was able to understand foreign languages to help him better perform the duties of his job. During the early 1970s he was a volunteer fireman for the New Jersey Civil Defense and Disaster Control for the city of Newark, N.J.

    In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children; daughters, Kristen DiCorcia and her fiancé, Michael Martin, of Hamburg, Ann Marie Henderson and her husband, Jason, of Port Jervis, NY, son, Jason P. DiCorcia and his wife, Jessica, of Port Jervis, N.Y.; sisters, Donna Davis and her husband, Richard. of South Carolina, and Karen Lamparello of Feura Bush, N.Y., grandchildren, Jessica L. DiCorica and Snelynia Henderson along with great-grandchildren Antonio Francis DiCorcia, Kyera Marie Price, and Paris Nikole Price.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Ferguson Funeral Home 27 Third St. Sussex. Final disposition will be held privately. Visitation will held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
