Carolyn 'Pat' Dennis

Carolyn “Pat” Dennis, 73, passed away on Wednesday July 16, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Born in Newton, she is the daughter of the late Willard and Carolyn (Perigo) Straway. Carolyn has been a lifelong resident of Sussex County living in Franklin since 1959.

For 33 years, she was employed as a certified nurse’s aid with Barnhill Care Center in Newton, retiring in 2007. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and word puzzles. She loved and always cherished the time she would spend with her family and especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She always enjoyed the holidays. She loved her cat, “Mister Jingles,” and her granddaughter’s dog, “Sadie”

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, David B. Dennis (2005). She is survived by her children: Guy Arthur Dennis of Sebring Fla., Jeffrey Allen Dennis and his wife, Nancy, of Wantage, and Kelly Lynn Dennis of Ogdensburg; grandchildren: Brandy Allen Dennis of Wantage, Eliza Jane Beach and her husband, Eric, of Franklin, Michelle Lynn Guehne of Hardyston, Matthew Kyle Hernandez of Ogdensburg and David Benjamin Hall of Ogdensburg, and a great-grandchild, Sebastian Edward Beach.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral 10 a.m. on Tuesday July 22, 2014, at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St. Franklin, N.J. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery.
