Councilman Babcock should resign

Now that Councilman Fanale of Franklin Borough has resigned his position as councilman, I now direct my attention toward Councilman Fredrick Babcock, Jr., also of Franklin Borough. Councilman Babcock interfered with a police investigation that ultimately led to the arrest of his father, Fredrick Babcock, Sr., who also is a Franklin Borough fireman.

The actions by Councilman Fanale were so absurd and disgusting that it diverted all the attention that was directed toward Councilman Babcock. The actions and statement of Councilman Babcock were hateful, disgraceful and unbecoming of a councilman. The residence and taxpayers of Franklin Borough deserve to have all their community leaders act in a professional and unbiased manner.

In reference to the statement “this is why I hate you guys” toward Franklin Borough police by Councilman Fredrick Babcock Jr. shows he cannot be unbiased and professional.

As I stated in my last editorial on this matter, it is my opinion that Councilman Fredrick Babcock Jr. resign his position immediately. He is not deserving of this position.

As for the mayor and council, if they are in support of Councilman Babcock Jr’s. actions and statement, they, too, should be replaced. If the mayor and council think that the public forgot about Councilman Babcock’s actions they are wrong. To alleviate anymore embarrassment towards the borough of Fanklin, the mayor and council should ask for Councilman Fredrick Babcock Jr’s. resignation immediately.
