Westy's gymnast wins state floor championship

Westys gymnnasts put on a strong showing in Wildwood recently, including one state championship.

Sarah Philback finished in first place for New Jersey on the floor with a score of 9.375 and third on the balance beam with a score of 9.0. She also finished with an 8.45 on the vault and 8.35 on the bars. She had an all-around score of 35.175.

Peyton Kane of Ogdensburg scored a 7.55 on the vault, 7.55 on the bars and 8.3 on the beam and 8.75 on the floor for an all-around score of 32.15.

Stella Scardigno of Wantage had a 7.7 on the vault, a 7.85 on the bars, a 7.6 on the beam and an 8.5 on the floor for an all-around score of 31.65.

Samie Copley of Vernon scored a 9.0 on the vault, an 8.65 on the bars, an 8.475 on the beam and a 9.0 on the floor for an all-around score of 35.125.

Andrea Piedresanta of Hamburg scored an 8.15 on the vault, an 8.6 on the bars, an 8.25 on the beam and an 8.9 on the floor for an all-around score of 33.9.

Elizabeth Byra of Stockholm scored 8.05 on the vault, 8.5 on the bars, 8.5 on the beam and 8.6 on the floor for an all-around score of 33.65.

Westys Gymnastics teams have been attending the New Jersey State meet hosted by Flyers Gymnastics for the past 13 years . This upcoming year Westys Gymnastics will have the honor of hosting the state meet.
