Franklin man faces burglary charges

A borough man faces burglary charges after Franklin police responded to a residential burglary on Main Street.

Raymond W. Ammacher, 34, was charged with burglary, two counts of theft and use of prescription legend drugs.

Police said they made contact with the victim, who reported a burglary occurred sometime between 1 p.m. July 25, and 1:30 p.m. July 27. Police said the victim reported that prescription medication, along with currency, were taken from the residence.

Police said Ammacher is alleged to have etnered the apartment by removing an air conditining unit from a window, entered the apartment, removed prescription narcotis, and less than $200 in currency.

He was sent to to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $26,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

Franklin police are urging residents to secure all windows and doors, even those with air conditioning units in them and to reort any suspicious activity to the police.
