    Helen Madelon Decker(nee Roeder), 90 years old, died after a brief illness at Barn Hill Care Center, Newton, N.J.n on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014. Born to Herbert M. and Edna F. Roeder in East Orange, N.J., she had lived in the Lake Mohawk section of Sparta Twp., N.J., for many years and then moved to the Crystal Springs section of Hardyston Twp., N.J., 17 years ago.

    Helen was a former parishioner of Our Lady of The Lake RC Church, Sparta, NJ and a parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle RC Church, Hamburg, N.J. She was a volunteer at Newton Memorial Hospital for more than 25 years and volunteered for the Sparta Ambulance Squad and Birthright in Dover, N.J. She enjoyed trips to the casinos and reading.

    Helen was predeceased by a brother, John Roeder, and a sister, Marilyn Kulsar, and was the beloved wife for 70 years of Hewitt Decker of Hardyston Twp., N.J.; devoted mother of Peter Decker of Hawthorne, N.J.; loving grandmother of Peter Decker, Jr. of Morristown, N.J.; dear sister of Jean Marron of Palmyra, Va.; cherished by many nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main Street, Franklin, N.J., on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle RC Church, Hamburg, N.J. Interment to follow at St. Thomas of Aquin Cemetery, Ogdensburg, N.J.
