Katherine Scott of Franklin was named to the Marist College dean's list for the spring 2014 semester.

Christina Batista of Ogdensburg and Kayleen Carroll of Franklin recently graduated from Berkeley College.

They are both multi-level patient care technicians and graduated from the Dover location.

Jessie Dietz of Lafayette participated in the High Point University's School of Education's Summer Reading Institute. She was one of the graduates working with elementary students on reading, integrated math and science experiments, and writing projects. The purpose was to help the students maintain and build upon what they learned during the school year over the summer.

The institute also provided each student with 12 to 15 books to keep at the end of the summer. The children chose some of their own books and the teachers chose books they knew would be a good fit for the children.

Alicia Confrancesco of Hamburg was named to the dean's list at Paul Smith's College for the spring 2014 semester.

Cofrancesco, who is majoring in hotel, resort and tourism management, earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction.

The University of Rhode Island announces that more than 4,000 undergraduates have qualified for the Spring 2014 Dean's List. The students represent all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, many other states and more than a dozen countries. More than half of the students are Rhode Islanders.

To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.
