Comedian Robin Williams, dies at 63

Comedian and actor Robin Williams reportedly took his own life today in an apparent suicide, according to the law enforcement officials. He was 63.

Williams' death is suspected to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made, according to a statement released by the Marin County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Division.

Police officials received a 911 call at approximately 11:55 a.m. reporting a male adult had been located unconscious and not breathing inside his residence in Tiburon, California. The Sheriff's Office, Tiburon Fire Department and Southern Marin Fire Protection District were dispatched to the incident with emergency personnel arriving on scene at noon.

Williams was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m., according to the Coroner's Office statement.

A forensic examination is currently scheduled for Aug. 12 with subsequent toxicology testing to be conducted.

"Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny ... and everything in between. But he was one of a kind," President Barack Obama tweeted.

"I could not be more stunned by the loss of Robin Williams, mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul," Comedian Steve Martin tweeted.
