    Jean Florence Hough (nee Wagner), 90, of Lafayette Township died after a brief illness at Barn Hill Care Center, Newton on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014.

    Born to James and Florence Wagner in Dumont, Iowa, she had lived in Wantage Twp. and then Lafayette Twp. for the last 29 years.

    Jean was a dedicated homemaker and took great joy in knitting and reading. She was best remembered for sitting outside and watching the world.

    Jean was predeceased by her husband, William D. Hough, Sr.(1998), a brother, Bud Wagner and a sister, Mercedes Pickett and was the devoted mother of Ronald Hough of Dingman’s Ferry, Pa., William D. Hough, Jr. of Wantage Twp., Richard Hough of Wantage Twp., Brian Hough of Montague, Donald Hough of Sussex, Carol Card of Wantage Twp., Patricia Pelt of Wantage Twp. and Donna Mack of Sandyston.

    Cherished by 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Butch Wagner of Wantage Twp., Robert Wagner of N.H., Audrey Ryan of Walden, N.Y., Blanche Schick of Vernon Twp., Gloria Beemer of Beemerville and Jocelyn Young of Branchville.

    The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Cremation will be private.
