Stand-up comedian, actor, and writer Paul Reiser, re-emerges on the comedy scene by making a stop at Centenary Stage Company.

Reiser will perform his new tour "Curtain Up! With Paul Reiser" at the Lackland Center on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. for the 2014 – 2015 Season Opening Gala.

In addition to co–creating and starring in the acclaimed NBC series, “Mad About You,” which garnered him Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations, his successes also include his most recent book, "Familyhood," the long awaited follow-up to "Babyhood" and "Couplehood," his first book, which sold more than two million copies and reached the number one spot on The New York Times bestseller list.

Currently Reiser can be seen in the FX series “Married,” opposite Oscar-winner Nat Faxon and Jenny Slat. He also recently appeared alongside Michael Douglas and Matt Damon in the HBO movie “Behind the Candelabra” based on the life of Liberace.

Some of Reiser’s other film roles include “Aliens,” “Beverly Hills Cop (I and II),” “Diner,” “Bye, Bye Love,” “The Marrying Man,” and “The Thing About My Folks” — (starring alongside Peter Falk) which Reiser also wrote and produced.

The Season Opening Gala with Reiser will begin with a pre-show reception at 6:30 p.m. in the Kutz Black Box Theater of the Lackland Center. This year’s reception will include a kicked up interpretation of traditional “diner” food and specialty custom brews provided by Hackettstown’s own Homebrew University. A professional photographer will be present during the reception providing digital media that will be uploaded to social networks for an “up – to – the – minute” interactive chronicling of the event. Participants will have the opportunity to share, like and follow the event as its happening. Flower arrangements will be donated by Calico Country Flowers.

The performance by Reiser will begin at 8 p.m. in the Sitnik Theater of the Lackland Center, and a limited VIP “Meet and Greet” with the artist will happen during the on-stage post show reception.

Tickets for the performance of Reiser are $40 in the orchestra and $35 in the balcony. Tickets for the pre-show reception are $60. Special VIP tickets, which include the pre-show reception, the performance with orchestra seating, and the post-show “Meet and Greet” will be offered at $100.
