Katherine VanderMark

Katherine VanderMark, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Born in Wantage to the late Jacob and Henrietta (Sutton) VanderMark, she had lived in the Sussex-Wantage area all of her life. She had been employed as a nurse’s aid for 12 years at the former Methodist Manor in Branchville and had retired in 1983. Mrs.

VanderMark was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Anderson; her daughter, Sadie; her granddaughter, Carla; two great grandchildren, Courtney and Harrison; and a great great grandson, Shane Allen. She is survived by her three sons, Herman VanderMark of Wantage, Frank VanderMark of Hardyston, and Arnold VanderMark and his wife Mary-Ellen of Wantage; her four daughters, Maude Turse and her husband, Robert, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa, Dorothy Shauger and her husband, Ronald, of Hardyston, Susan Mericle and Linda Babcock, both of Wantage; two sisters, Bessie Gould of Branchville and Henrietta Crane of Sparta; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, August 25, 2014, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at Clove Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
