    Emily C. LaBarr, 99, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, September 7, 2014. Born in Narrowsburg, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Wilhelmina (Scheidel) Harder. Mrs. LaBarr has been a resident of Sandyston for the past 10 years and prior to that had resided in Wantage and Hamburg.

    Mrs. LaBarr for 23 years worked as a trimmer for the Ames Rubber Corp. in Hamburg retiring from that position in 1977. She was a longtime member of the Hamburg Baptist Church and over her many years had severed as a deaconess. She was a former member and past president of the Hamburg Senior Citizens. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She also loved to watch the birds that she would feed with the many bird feeders around her home.

    In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jacob Buss LaBarr (1985); and two daughters, Marie LaBarr (1970) and Carol Getz (2001). She is survived by her daughter Edey Werman of Starr, S.C.; grandchildren, Dan Werman, Bruce Werman and his wife, Marta; Cindy Cusick and her husband, Freddy, Suzie Oakley; Mikki Lantz and her husband, Bob; Mark Smith, Tracy Burroughs, Kelly Getz; great-grandchildren, David and Heather Dilts, Christine and Josh Werman, Marci and Shawn Werman, K.C. Pelkey, Windy Cusick, Justin, Scott and Lori Oakley, Camryn Burroughs and Ryan Burroughs, and fourteen great-great grandchildren, along with many, many nieces and nephews.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St. Franklin, N.J. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 pm.
