Winifred E. Anderson

Winifred E. Anderson, age 95, passed away on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at the Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on September 15, 1918 to the late Charles E. and Freda Anderson, she had lived in Hasbrouck Heights before moving to Sussex County in 2008. Miss. Anderson had been employed as a secretary for the Brunning Company in Moonachie for 30 years before retiring at age 62. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hasbrouck Heights and was a former member of the Senior Citizen Club in Hasbrouck Heights.

She was predeceased by her two brothers, Raymond Anderson in 1979 and Ellis Anderson in 1994 and her sister, Dorothy Anderson in 1980. Miss Anderson is survived by her niece, Jean Hertz-Flynn and her husband, Edward, of Hamburg and her great nieces, Dorothy Hertz and Sharon Salameh and her children Joshua and Eva.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Thursday prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
