William Gary Rowe

William Gary Rowe, 77, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Mr. Rowe, son of the late William M. and Ruth (McCarthy) Rowe, was born in Newark on Nov. 15, 1936. He was a longtime resident of Ogdensburg and Sparta.

Mr. Rowe was the owner of Sparta Sales, Inc. in Sparta. He was a supporter and volunteer for Special Olympics, United Way and Boys Town. He was also an avid racer of cars, boats and standard bred horses as well, he flew small airplanes. Mr. Rowe was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Rowe is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Pilkington) Rowe; loving children, Dawne M. Rowe of Franklin, Cheryl A. Rowe-Krouse of Franklin and Cynthia L. Gunderman and her husband, Robert, of Ogdensburg; cherished grandchildren, Mark E. Krouse, Emma E. Krouse, Madison M. Gunderman and William C. Gunderman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday September 11, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, to St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church in Ogdensburg for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. Private cremation will follow.
