    Paul Fortunato, 24, of Flanders pleaded guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 10.

    He admitted to possessing heroin during the course of a motor vehicle stop by Hopatcong police on May 17.

    Aug. 8
    Jake Rivera, 26, of Union City, New Jersey, was sentenced to two years of probation and his driving privileges were suspended for six months. He must pay total fines and penalties of $655 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    He pleaded guilty on May 5, to accomplice liability for theft, a crime of the third degree.

    In pleading guilty, Rivera admitted to assisting another individual in the theft of a motor vehicle in Byram on Dec. 15, 2013. The matter was investigated by Byram police.

    Shenoll Bizati, 28, of Oak Ridge, New Jersey, was sentenced to two years of probation and was ordered to serve five days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program.

    He must pay total fines and penalties of $1,205 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    Bizati pleaded guilty on June 9 to attempting to obtain CDS by fraud, a crime of the third degree.

    In pleading guilty, Bizati admitted to attempting to obtain Oxycodone from the Hamburg Rite Aid on March 5 by passing an altered prescription.

    Sean C. Colligan, 40, of Hardyston, was sentenced to 90 days jail with credit for 69 days of time served.

    He pleaded guilty on July 14, to fourth-degree criminal mischief.

    In April he jumped on a vehicle in the Hampton Walmart parking lot causing a side window to shatter.

    Judith Gonzales, 44, of Hamburg, New Jersey, was sentenced to two years of probation. She was ordered to submit to mental health and TASC evaluations and follow all recommendations made, perform fifteen hours of community service and her driving privileges were suspended for six months.

    She must pay total fines and penalties of $1,205 and submit a DNA sample at her expense.

    Gonzales pleaded guilty on June 30 to prescription fraud, a crime of the third degree.

    In pleading guilty, Gonzales admitted to attempting to obtain Xanax from a pharmacy in Franklin on Aug. 22, 2013 by way of a prescription she knew was not valid. The matter was investigated by the Franklin Borough Police Department.

    Christopher Lewinson, 28, of Sussex, New Jersey was sentenced to two years of probation, two years loss of driver’s license and fines and penalties.

    He pleaded guilty on July 7, to possession of heroin, a third degree crime and driving while intoxicated.

    Aug. 11
    Kevin Stangl, 18, of Vernon, pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 17.

    On a June evening in Hardyston the defendant was at a party joking with friends with his gun and pulled the trigger, accidently shooting the victim in the shoulder. He had thought that the gun was not loaded.

    Guiseppe Tedesco, 29, of Newton, was sentenced to four years in state prison with credit for

    574 days already served.
    He pleaded guilty on July 8, to third-degree resisting arrest.

    In January of 2013 Tedesco resisted the efforts of Sheriff’s Officers who were attempting to place him in a holding cell at the Sussex County Courthouse causing injury to one of the officers.

    Tedesco was represented by Jessica Moses, Esq. and the state was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Jerome P. Neidhardt.
