I am grateful for my Fire Dept.

What do I want to be when I grow up? Well, there are billions of jobs, but there’s one thing I want to be, a firefighter. A firefighter isn’t some person who just drives a big red truck! A fire fighter isn’t somebody who just epically chops down doors with an ax! The real meaning of a firefighter is to save lives of people including young children. That is what I call a firefighter.

When the fire whistle blows, that’s when I know it will be my time to shine! It’s my time to help a person in need. It’s my time to save a soul. It’s my time to be the person I’ve always wanted to be. When I walk into a fire house I’ll see my friends there smiling. I try to imagine being with good friends speeding in a fire engine to going to someone in need. That is part of the job that gives you thrill you’ll never forget. There are good and bad things about being a fire fighter. You get to save lives, but a firefighter has to face some dangerous and even disturbing things. Last time I checked, it’s not safe to walk into a burning building, and you are eventually going to see a victim.

Being a firefighter can be fun, scary and dangerous. I know this because my grandpa was a firefighter, and it’s still something I can do. If I can do it one day, so can you. There are many options of jobs, but this one, in my opinion, is the best. And as I said, I bet it can give you a thrill you won’t forget.
