Grammy-nominated artist Beth Hart to perform

| 16 Sep 2014 | 08:45

Grammy-nominated artist Beth Hart will bring her sultry, jazzy, rockin’ sound to the Newton Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m.

The story of Beth Hart is one of extreme highs and extreme lows. In the late 90s, Beth was on the cusp of a promising music career, signed to a major U.S. label, national television bookings, hit singles, and great press, but her career careened off the tracks at its peak due to her drug and alcohol addiction. Beth Hart’s story is one of incredible opportunity, heartbreaking loss, and then redemption.

Hart re-emerged in the U.S. at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors joining Jeff Beck in tribute to blues legend Buddy Guy performing "I’d Rather Go Blind."

In 2012 Hart released "Bang Bang Boom Boom" (Provogue Records/ Mascot Label Group) and embarked on her first U.S. headline tour in 10 years. Every date sold out within minutes. Afterwards, Beth toured with "The Rides," the blues-rock supergroup featuring legendary songwriter Stephen Stills, guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Electric Flag keyboardist Barry Goldberg.

Hart has a new live album/ DVD with Joe Bonamassa titled "Live In Amsterdam" and plans to record a new solo album in August, as well as a recent Blues Music Awards nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist.

Tickets for Beth Hart are $49 for premium seating, $44 for orchestra and $39 for balcony. Purchase tickets by visiting www.thenewtontheatre.com or contact the box office at 973-383-3700.
