    Walter Webb, 94, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Mr. Webb, son of the late Orval and Harriet (McCloud) Webb, was born in Franklin on Feb. 14, 1920. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin, recently residing at Bristol Glen in Newton.

    Mr. Webb owned and operated Webbs News and Delivery Service on Main Street in Franklin for over 50 years, later moving the business to Shop-Rite Center on Rt. 23 in Franklin. After retiring from the business, he worked as a courier for National Community Bank and later Ames Rubber Corp where he retired from at the age of 82.

    Mr. Webb was a member of Franklin Fire Dept for over 50 years and a member of the Exempt Firemen’s Association. He was the oldest living fireman in Sussex County and was given the honor of parade marshall in last year's Sussex County Firemen’s Parade held in Franklin. In the past he was on a bowling team, winning many trophies, played baseball in a local league and was an avid NY Yankee fan.

    Mr. Webb was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Alberta Cornell Webb in 2009; daughter, Evelyn Webb Darvalics in 2010; brothers, Richard, Harold and Orval Marcus Webb; sisters, Marjorie Herzenberg and Beatrice Saxe. He is survived by his children, Richard Webb and his wife, Linda, of Hamburg and Linda Kim Van Tassel and her husband, Larry, of Hamburg; sister-in-law, Jean White of Franklin; grandsons, Darren Webb of California, Jason Webb and his wife Jennifer of Pennsylvania, Tracey Kays and his wife Alicia of Highland Lakes, Trevor Kays of Hamburg, Troy Kays and his wife, Jeannine, of Hamburg and Ryan Darvalics & his wife, Erin, of Franklin; great-grandchildren, Emily, Gabrielle and Lillian Kays, Melissa and Paxton Webb, Sawyer Kays and Ryder, Ella and Reagan Darvalics as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

    Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 11 a.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Fire Department services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Fire Department Exempt Association 137 Buckwheat Road Franklin, NJ 07416.
