    Paul E. Tallman, 83, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2014 at Franciscan Oaks Health Center in Denville. Mr. Tallman, son of the late Millard and Frances (Mills) Tallman, was born in Newton on May 4, 1931. He has been a longtime resident of Ogdensburg.

    Mr. Tallman retired from Jersey Central Power & Light having worked in North Jersey for 40 years. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Tallman served in the Korean War with the Chosin Few and was recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired from the Marine Corps as a First SGT after 40 years of service and was a Disabled American Veteran.

    Mr. Tallman was a member of the Sussex County Marine Corps League PFC Jeffrey S. Patterson Detachment #747 Wounded Warriors, SGT. Francis M. Glynn American Legion Post #132 of Franklin. He was also a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge #8 F & AM of Newton and was a Boys and Girls Scout Leader.

    Mr. Tallman was predeceased by a daughter, Paullette Tallman and 2 brothers, Ernie and Harry “Fil” Tallman. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Current) Tallman; children, Warren Tallman & his wife, June, of Chase Mills, N.Y., Deborah Bailey & her husband, Will, of Dothan, Ala., Linda Pawlowicz and her husband Tony of Concord, Calif., Diane Edwards and her husband Dale of Edmeston, N.Y,, Sharon McCarty & her husband, Jim, of Wantage, Emily O’Brien and her husband, Bob, of Morris Plains and Tracy Hornyak and her husband, Earl, of Ogdensburg; sister, Jane Cowdrick of Newton, many grandchildren & great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

    A funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at 8:30 p.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St. Franklin. Cremation will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Sussex County Marine Corps League PFC Jeffrey S.
