Franklin approves more than $110K on roadway improvements

    FRANKLIN — Franklin Borough Administrator James Kilduff recently announced the borough intends to spend more than $110,000 on roadway improvements.

    The council unanimously approved milling, paving and striping Davis Road, Section 1 for $81,955.80 through the Morris County Co-operative with Tilcon, N.Y., Inc. and $2,873.20 to Denville Line Painting.

    Borough engineer Thomas Knutelsky recommended the improvement.

    The council also unanimously approved a shared-service agreement with Sussex County. A section of Junction Street between Main and Fowler streets will be milled, paved, and striped for around $24,620.79.

    Finally, the Council unanimously approved pursuing the New Jersey Department of Transportation Trust Fund Grant Applications for the Roadway/Sidewalk Project of Main Street and North Rutherford.

    The grant applications were in response to Knutelsky's Borough Engineer report on Sept. 19.
