Outreach Depot sends out flood buckets

Volunteers for Outreach Depot were busy at work on Sept. 27, assembling the flood buckets Mission Central will transport out once fully filled with the necessary supplies (liquid laundry detergent, liquid household cleaner, dish soap, air freshener, personal insect repellent spray, a hand-held scrub brush, 18 cleaning wipes, seven sponges, five scouring pads, 50 clothespins, clothesline, 24 heavy duty trash bags, five dust masks, two pairs of disposable kitchen gloves and a pair of work gloves).

Members from the Wallkill Valley Rotary Club No. 5560, including President Sharon Hosking, were present to help out. The Rotary Club provided the Skylands Outreach Depot with a grant of $4,500 to go toward disaster relief efforts.

There were enough supplies to put together at least one hundred flood buckets. About 20 volunteers came to help out, including Rev. Amy Lawrence of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Sussex (21 Unionville Avenue in Sussex.
