Vote for Democrats, not for treason

I intend this message to be directed toward all of my Republican friends as the November election approaches. To all Republicans, I ask you to please vote Democratic this year because; your party has deserted you! Once a party of reason and conservative spending, The Republican Party is now a party that is owned and operated by and for the wealthiest — at the expense of the rest of us.

What this means is that the current Republican Party, responsible for the least productive congress in our nation’s history, is therefore no longer a party of, by, and for the people. What this means, my friends, is that a vote for any Republican at this time can be seen, in fact, as a vote for treason. This is because the “Citizens United” decision by the conservative majority of the Supreme Court permits huge donations by the wealthy to their candidates without having to reveal these donations to the voters, so Republican politicians are no longer in favor of a government of, by, and for the people. A vote for a Republican at this time is a vote for a Corporatocracy, not a Democracy. If you are truly an American, you will vote for a Democrat this time so that our congress and our government will return to doing its job for the sake of all of us Americans.

Realize please, friends, that President Obama saved our auto industry with a low interest loan. Jobs have grown throughout his administration, particularly since the enactment of the Affordable Care Act. How much better would we be if there was no GOP obstruction in Washington?

If we can return our government to the people through a Democratic majority in both houses of congress, then we will see, among many improvements, a) support for American steel, not inferior foreign steel; b) support for voting rights for all citizens; c) increased improvement in affordable healthcare for all; d) action to reverse climate change and to respond to wildfire emergencies and the danger of rising ocean waters; e) funding for improved infrastructure and improved public education, both of which aid American business; f) support for a better minimum wage and better income for all middle class people; g) a return to a government that serves all Americans.

Please, my friends, for everyone’s sake, remove your support for our do-nothing congress. Take the power away from the top 1 percent and return it to the majority of American voters. Know that the wealthiest believe in preserving and growing their wealth no matter who or what else is hurt or damaged. This one time, my Republican friends, vote Democratic up and down the line. Then, next year, all Republicans can and should work together to restore the Republican Party to its original fiscal conservative roots and its willingness to work with government Democrats to achieve what is needed for all Americans.

Do not vote for treason. Vote for a government of, by, and for the People. Please, please — vote Democratic this November.
