— TeamWEN (Women’s Entrepreneurial Network) announced its first anniversary as a small business group.

TeamWEN is an organization that connects women who own or manage their own businesses with like-minded women in order to facilitate new business relationships and foster exceptional business practices, according to a company news release.

It is a sisterhood which promotes and supports each other.

TeamWEN was founded by Lauren Fraser, of Hamburg, and Heather Donnelly, of Sparta, in September 2013. Since that time membership has grown to over 40 members.

Many TeamWEN members that have taken advantage of the opportunities membership offers have turned their businesses around, the release states.

As TeamWEN moves in to its second year Fraser and Donnelly have brought on Cathy Walker, of Andover, of Solutions Business Consulting as Executive Director.

Walker’s experience as a business owner, sales manager and consultant will bring a new dimension to the organization.

“One of the goals I would like to focus on for the coming year is to grow our membership with brick and mortar business owners,” said Walker. “ Retailers are facing many challenges in today’s business climate and I believe TeamWEN can help these women meet those challenges.”

TeamWEN will be hosting a member renewal and new member event on Oct. 9 at Mohawk House. The cost is $30 and there will be snacks and beverages.
