The Jefferson Township Public Library will host the Jefferson Community Players, which will perform two seasonal one-act plays on Saturday, Nov. 1., at 7 p.m.

Light refreshments will follow the plays.

This program is free and open to the public, and library doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The Jefferson Township Public Library is located at 1031 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge.

The players, under the direction of Jean Simonson, will present "The Keeping Place," a New England ghost story in which two sisters are inexplicably drawn to a wintry island off the New England coast. Lisa walks the beach endlessly searching for something she knows is there, but can't remember. Jane tries to fight forces that she can't understand. As a terrible storm rages against the lonely cottage, they wonder if the dead can return to haunt the living. "Dinner Plans" features five women who get together for coffee and to exchange recipes. They make some startling discoveries.and new dinner plans. Cast members are Patricia Baran, Dorman, Haley James, Maria Manna, Dina Nicholas and Cheryl Sullilvan.

The players will offer an encore matinee performance of the two plays on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m., at the Jefferson Township Senior Center, 54 Schoolhouse Road, Oak Ridge. This performance is also free, and open to the public.
